Free your machine workshop!

We'll cover:

  • coreboot derivatives like skulls and HEADS and of course Libreboot,
  • Explain the current state of modern BIOS architecture,
  • Talk about Intel ME, the threats is poses and how to clean/analyze it,
  • Work our away around the coreboot and HEADS source,
  • Flash a couple of Thinkpads (hopefully we'll get our hands on a x200/t400 to show some Libreboot magic),
  • Portray the most interesting payloads and security options for the paranoids.

Timeline:

  • Intro and theory ~ 1 hour
  • Intel ME and coreboot source ~ 1 hour
  • Flashing Workshop ~ 7pm till the end

Requirements:

  • Bring your laptop to follow along.
  • If you are interested in having your machine freed too, come an hour earlier to make sure it is compatible and we have the appropriate equipment (SOIC clips).
