Aftermath

Successfully flashed Debian 7.0 (Wheezy) on Beaglebone, following instructions found here and here

Tested two different wifi dongles. Turbox dongle (plenty available at Space) requires firmware found here

Contemplated 3rd dimension

Test Beaglebone's PWM outputs (connect some servos?).
Test dongle's AP mode (hostapd).
Decide on next steps.
